Making Spaces thriving Learning Places -
Interior Architecture and Design for Children and their Educational Practitioners
Since starting my journey in early childhood in 1996, it has always been my passion to provide thriving learning spaces that are current, innovative and memorable. I believe the physical, sensory, and temporal environment can impact on a child’s interest and desire to engage in experiences and therefore may affect their level of interaction, skillset, learning outcomes, behaviours, and developmental milestones.
As an early childhood practitioner with twenty-five years’ experience in the sector; I combine my interior architecture qualifications with my teaching qualifications to support the child’s right to play and learn without constriction from the environment. I believe in the environment as the third, fourth and fifth teacher. Imagine a physical environment that provides for all of our children’s interests and learning needs/styles, while the people in that space provide for all of their emotional wellbeing, security and social needs.
I am passionate about nature, the environment and play based learning. I incorporate biophilic design, sustainability and learning experiences through play into my designs. My passions for children’s educational spaces has grown with my own life experiences, further learning on educational learning styles, neurological diversity, the temporal environment and the eight sensory systems. All of which, continues to inform my approach to educational design.
If you’re looking for an Architectural Design Studio to help your early learning space grow, you’ve come to the right place. Whatever the vision you have in mind, we’re committed to bringing it to life with connection to The Early Years Learning Framework and The National Quality Standard.
